Blanka Němcová began working with ceramics ten years ago, and in recent years her creative journey has moved to Levín in the České středohoří mountains, a place renowned for its pottery. In her latest series, she has begun to explore and work with clay from the surrounding countryside, thus naturally completing the creative process between place, material, and the resulting object. She actively experiments with firing, glazes, and melting local rocks, such as basalt, emphasizing the unique materials of the landscape that surrounds her. Her work is slow, meditative, connected to the rhythm of the body and natural processes, symbolically represented by earth and fire. The resulting objects bear a strong haptic imprint and organic curves reminiscent of sea waves or landscape reliefs. They become imprints of the momentary mood and the specific place in which they are created—on the border between matter, touch, and the present moment.
